Three Oaks Park

Design Introduction

At Three Oaks Park in Albany, GA, we face unique complexities, notably flooding and a mandate to preserve the cherished oak trees—a testament to the site's emotional and historical significance. Named after three iconic oaks, the park's identity is intricately tied to their legacy. In navigating these intricacies, our mission is to honor the site's rich history by crafting a resilient and meaningful design for the community.

Community Engagement 

Our project journey commenced with an on-site meeting, laying the groundwork for community involvement. Leveraging Google surveys, we expanded our reach to gather valuable insights, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive approach in shaping the project's direction.

Concept 

We valued community inputs in formulating our design concept for Three Oaks Park in Albany, GA. Our approach includes multiple trials connecting to the main trail, along with the introduction of a nature play area. Striving to maintain the park's public accessibility while ensuring a low-key atmosphere for the neighborhood, our design is carefully curated to discourage any potential security concerns.

Final Presentation

Our culminating presentation took place at Albany Primary School, where we hosted an open house attended by approximately 30 individuals. It served as the platform to unveil our final design, fostering engagement and feedback from the community in this collaborative journey for the transformation of Three Oaks Park.
